OMRON to Acquire OnLogic, Boosting Industrial AI and Edge Computing

OMRON signs deal to acquire OnLogic, combining automation and edge computing to help manufacturers meet rising AI and data needs.

OMRON, a major industrial automation company, announced it will buy OnLogic, a maker of tough, custom-built industrial computers.

Factories today need more computing power to handle data and artificial intelligence (AI). This deal combines OMRON’s expertise in automation, robotics, and sensors with OnLogic’s skill in building rugged computers that work in harsh environments. Together, they aim to help manufacturers process data faster and make smarter decisions right on the factory floor.

OMRON’s CEO, Junta Tsujinaga, said the deal supports the company’s long-term growth plans, especially in North America. OnLogic’s CEO, Sean Larkin, said joining OMRON gives his company the global reach and resources to grow faster while keeping its culture and customer-focused approach.

After the deal closes, OnLogic will continue running as its own business inside the OMRON Group. It will keep its headquarters in South Burlington, Vermont, its brand name, its direct sales model, and its current management team led by Larkin.

The acquisition is expected to be completed around January 2027, once regulators give approval.

The deal will strengthen OMRON’s position in the Americas and Europe and open doors to new industries. OMRON also confirmed it will continue supporting its existing business partners.
