Gpixel has introduced its latest innovation in large-format CMOS imaging technology with the launch of the GSENSE1517BSI sensor. Designed for astronomy and scientific applications, this backside-illuminated (BSI) monochrome sensor delivers exceptional performance for space situational awareness, orbital object tracking, and astrophotography.

The GSENSE1517BSI boasts a 16.8 MP resolution (4116 x 4100) with a 15 x 15 µm pixel size, providing high sensitivity and low noise imaging. With a 92% peak quantum efficiency (QE) and a minimum read noise of just 1.2e, this sensor ensures superior image clarity even in low-light conditions. Its dual gain HDR and 14-bit ADC offer dynamic range capabilities up to 95.3 dB, making it ideal for capturing intricate astronomical details.

Built for extreme environments, the GSENSE1517BSI operates within a temperature range of -60°C to 50°C, ensuring reliability in challenging conditions. With a 4 fps frame rate and a large imaging area (61.74 x 61.5 mm), it is a top choice for scientists and researchers in astrophysics, space exploration, and deep-sky imaging.
